Featured Community Partner:

Portland Mentoring Alliance

The Portland Mentoring Alliance was established in 1992. During the past nineteen years, volunteers from businesses, organizations and colleges have been matched with Portland High School students to create supportive mentoring relationships .The program focuses on academic success, post-secondary planning and socialization as experienced in a one-on-one relationship. USM has many students and some staff and faculty who volunteer for PMA each year. Mentoring is a chance to contribute to the community by having an impact on a young person's life. The commitment is one hour each week for the academic year. If you are interested, contact the Office of Engaged Learning.
