Celebrate World Tourism Day-Tour Stutzman Farm Cafe and Dover-Foxcroft

Come tour Dover-Foxcroft and Stutzman Farm Cafe ***Winner of Yankee Magazine's 2014 Best Farm to Fork Award*** to celebrate World Tourism Day on Saturday September 27, 2014!

This trip is guided by USM's Dr. Tracy Michaud Stutzman and brings you up to her hometown of Dover-Foxcroft and family farm for a tour and lunch. Van picks you up at 8 am on Saturday, Sept. 27th in front of Woodbury Campus Center and drops you back there again at 5pm. A lovely drive at the beginning of leaf peeping season!

$15 per person (covers van transportation and food). Open to anyone in the USM community. Bring your significant other or friends!

World Tourism Day,September 27th, is a global observance to highlight tourism's social, cultural, political and economic value. This year's Theme: Tourism and Community Development focuses on the ability of tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities.

During your journey you will visit Stutzman Farm and see first-hand how they successfully engage visitors. Eat lunch (covered in fee) at the award winning cafe and listen to some great local live music. You also will tour downtown Dover-Foxcroft and the Center Theater-home of the famous Maine Whoopie Pie Festival (yes, you will get a complimentary whoopie pie!)

Learn about how tourism plays an important role in community development and how this small rural Maine town and farm is transforming itself!
