Great event this Thursday

As many of you know, the Campus Safety Project is bringing the national organization, Men Can Stop Rape, to USM next week, Nov. 17th and 18th.  Men Can Stop Rape will be offering a number of great training opportunities for students and USM Employees.  Please help us distribute this information widely, encourage your student, staff and faculty colleagues to attend and join us at Lunch Thursday if you are available.

The broad mission of Men Can Stop Rape is to create communities free from violence.  They are very engaging presenters and their work will offer great leadership development and skill-building opportunities for our whole community.
 
MCSR Strength Training objectives Include:
 
* Exploring issues of gender and socialization as they relate to interpersonal violence
 
* Learning how better to engage men as change agents in ending interpersonal violence
 
* Challenging norms around interpersonal violence.
 
*Connecting sexism and heterosexism to other forms of oppression
 
* Moving groups towards effective active bystander intervention - teaching people how and when to step in
